Each week Edible finds a balanced selection of the best local, seasonal and artisanal ingredients and delivers them to you every Monday with creative recipes included to inspire you in the kitchen.

The Edible Box contains more than just groceries – the ingredients are versatile and the recipes creative, allowing you to cook a variety of healthy and delicious meals, from breakfast sandwiches, salads for work or intimate dinners.

There are two boxes to choose from – Classic or Vegetarian.

Simply go to www.edibleco.co.za to take a look at what delicious ingredients and recipes are in the box for the next delivery. Choose your desired box (Classic or Veggie) then go to [link to order now]. Orders close on Wednesday 12h00 for the next Monday delivery.

Please go to ‘My Account’ and click on ‘Forgot Password’ and we will email you a link to reset your password.

Is the packaging recyclable? 2016-11-29T11:32:16+00:00

Yes! We only choose biodegradable, recyclable and reusable packaging.
The box is made from recyclable cardboard.
The bags inside the box are made from compostable starch.
The box is taped using a biodegradable gum paper tape.
String is made from strong, durable and eco-friendly hemp twine.
Ice packs are reusable. We are working on sourcing a completely recyclable product.
You can give last week’s box and packaging to the driver on delivery of your next Edible box.

Currently we are delivering to the City Bowl, Hout Bay and Atlantic Seaboard areas of Cape Town.

We deliver to your home, your office, or wherever is convenient for you.

Deliveries take place every Monday between 12h00 and 17h00.

We will always be happy to accommodate you, just let us know!

Please add in any specific notes in the ‘delivery instructions’ section for example:
A trusty neighbour’s number and address
A business address where you can collect the box at a later stage
Leave it at the front door (the box is insulated and cooled and will stay fresh until you get home)

Do you deliver on Public Holidays? 2016-11-04T11:42:56+00:00

We are closed on all Public Holidays.
If a delivery falls on one of these days, deliveries will most likely be delivered the next business day.
We will always let you know in advance of any changes.


How do payments work? 2017-01-18T14:19:22+00:00

We have partnered with PayFast to make your recurring payments safe, secure and easy. Once you place an order you will be redirected to PayFast’s secure payment gateway to enter your credit card details. Your card will be billed each Thursday. If you are placing your first order on any other day your initial transaction will be for R0.00 and your first payment will be charged on the upcoming Thursday.

If you don’t wish to receive a delivery, you can pause your subscription and resume when you are ready. Note that subscriptions must be paused before 12h00 on the Wednesday before your next delivery.

For once-off gift subscriptions we accept payment via EFT or Credit Card.

Why am I receiving emails from PayFast? 2016-12-13T09:50:36+00:00

PayFast is our secure payment gateway provider and all payments are processed through their payments server.

When you place your order you will receive a payment receipt from PayFast (this may indicate a R0.00 transaction if your order was not placed on a Thursday).

You will also receive an email recommending that you register with PayFast to manage your subscriptions. This is entirely optional, you can still pause or cancel your subscription with us by logging into your account on the Edible website or emailing order@edibleco.co.za.

You can pause your subscription by logging onto your account on the Edible website and clicking pause under your subscriptions. You can also email us at order@edibleco.co.za.

You can re-activate your subscription whenever you’re ready.

When do I get charged? 2016-12-13T10:32:41+00:00

Your credit card will be charged every Thursday. If you sign up on any other day your initial transaction will be for R0.00 and your first payment will be charged on the upcoming Thursday.

What if I want to switch to a different meal box for a week? 2016-12-12T13:42:33+00:00

You are welcome to try a different box for a week. Please email order@edibleco.co.za before Wednesday at 12h00 and let us know which box you would like to switch to.


How long do the ingredients stay fresh? 2016-11-04T11:47:27+00:00

With each box we will give you storage tips for perishable products and suggestions on what to cook and use first.

Most items in your box will stay fresh for 5-7 days and before delivery we will do everything to keep your products fresh for as long as possible.

We carefully select farmers and producers that share our philosophy of having regenerative and sustainable farming practices, choosing products that are either EU certified organic or adhere to organic farming standards.

We support a range of urban and rural farmers, with organic fresh produce, wild-caught fish, pasture-raised meat and dairy. We also source handmade, small-batch value-added products from local makers.

We promise to always be completely transparent about who and where your food comes from!

Yes, you can choose the vegetarian option when selecting your box.

We currently offer two products (classic or vegetarian) selections which may include dairy, nuts, wheat etc. We will work on towards offering more variety in future. Subscribe to our newsletter to keep up to date.

Will I need to buy additional items to make the recipes included in the box? 2016-11-04T11:45:37+00:00

We assume you have the basics such as olive oil, salt, pepper.
Our recipes sometimes include simple items such as vinegar or spices like chili flakes or tumeric and we will let you know what items you may need for the recipes that will not be included in the box, prior to your weekly delivery.

Each box contains a variety of ingredients and recipes for you to make anything up to 4 different meals for two people, including breakfast sandwiches, salads, side dishes and dinners. However, you can get creative with the ingredients and choose to make something different. The ingredients will vary week to week.

You can view the recipes online and follow them on your phone, tablet or laptop.
